AndhraPradesh: Animal exchange between Vizag Zoo Park & Kakatiya Zoo Park, Warangal
Animal exchange program has been executed between Indira Gandhi Zoological Park, Visakhapatnam & Kakatiya Zoological Park, Warangal whereby animals have been received from Warangal Zoo to IGZP in the early morning hours of December 10, 2023.
Mouse Deer, Chowsinga (Four Horned Antelope) have been received from Warangal Zoo to Vizag Zoo and Hog Deer, Barking Deer and Lutino Parakeets are giving to Warangal Zoo in exchange. This exchange brings two new species to the animal collection of IGZP.
Mouse Deer
Mouse Deer is the smallest deer species of the Asian continent and will be a new attraction for the visitors. Apart from this, Chowsinga (Four Horned Antelope) will also be a major attraction for the visitors.
The new animals brought from Warangal Zoo will be kept in Quarantine as per the standard protocol and will be displayed to the visitors in the respective enclosures after the Quarantine period is over.
