In IPL Cricket, Yuzvendra Chahal and Yashasvi Jaiswal broke two big individual records on their way to carrying Rajasthan Royals to a massive win over Kolkata Knight Riders, and up to third spot in the points table.

When Chahal dismissed Nitish Rana, he became the leading wicket-taker in IPL history, and went on to pick three more in figures of 4 for 25. Jaiswal got to a 13-ball half-century – the fastest-ever in the tournament – and finished with 98* off 47 as RR chased down KKR’s 149/8 with 9 wickets and 41 balls to spare.

On a slow Eden Gardens surface, Nitish Rana decided to bowl the first over himself. Yashasvi Jaiswal welcomed that by dancing down the track for a six over long on first ball.

The RR opener carted the next ball over deep backward square leg fence and proceeded to peel off three more fours in the same over – one gorgeous cover drive and two cuts through point. In defence of their 149/8, Rana conceded 26 runs – the second most-expensive opening over in the tournament.

Scores: Kolkata Knight Riders 149/8 in 20 overs (Venkatesh Iyer 57, Nitish Rana 22; Yuzvendra Chahal 4-25) lost to Rajasthan Royals 151/1 in 13.1 overs (Yashasvi Jaiswal 98*, Sanju Samson 48*) by 9 wickets.
