Revanth Reddy on the occasion of Independence Day.
After hoisting the national flag at Golconda Fort on the occasion of the 80th Independence Day, the Chief Minister addressed the people of the state. In his message, he comprehensively outlined the welfare schemes being implemented for the economic advancement of the poor, as well as the initiatives taken—driven by a clear vision and robust planning—to steer a devastated Telangana toward progress and development.
“Over the last 32 months, the people’s government has instilled confidence in the four crore people of the state through welfare measures. We have accelerated development across all sectors, taken historic decisions regarding social justice, and attracted global investments. We have laid strong foundations in infrastructure, technology, and skill development—elements essential for the future economy. ‘Telangana Rising-2047′ represents our grand resolve to elevate Telangana to even greater heights, building upon the successes we have already achieved.
The results of these 32 months of hard work are now becoming evident.” According to the latest RBI statistics, our state’s per capita income for 2025-26 stands at ₹4,18,931. Telangana’s per capita income is nearly 91 percent higher than the national average—a remarkable achievement that demonstrates the strength of our economy. Under our government, welfare is not measured merely in financial terms or by the amount of money spent.
Our approach to welfare is rooted in humanity and a sense of responsibility towards the poor. It is driven by a deep desire to bring happiness into their lives, ensure they lead healthy lives, and provide them with a dignified way of living. Every scheme is underpinned by a scientific outlook. Our government firmly believes that the state prospers only when farmers prosper. With the vision of alleviating farmers’ hardships and transforming agriculture into a celebration, this people’s government has accorded high priority to farmers’ welfare. Telangana has surpassed Punjab in both paddy cultivation area and yield, emerging as number one in the country.
There will be no compromise in securing Telangana’s rightful share of Krishna and Godavari waters. The government is moving forward to complete pending irrigation projects—spanning from Tummidihetti to Palamuru—on a priority basis and ensure water reaches the very last acre of the command area. The people’s government is advancing with the goal of making ten million women in Telangana ‘crorepatis’ (financially prosperous).
The supply of fine rice through welfare schemes is a revolutionary initiative—one that recognizes human dignity and assures better health. It has instilled the belief that consuming meals made from fine rice is a right. We have brought over 9.3 million families—comprising nearly 33.8 million people—under the ambit of the Public Distribution System. The people’s government has provided assurance to families who had been waiting years for new ration cards; we have issued over 1.5 million new cards.
Today, we are launching the distribution of smart ration cards across the state. We are enhancing transparency and accountability in ration distribution through new technology. We are constructing ‘Indiramma Houses’ to uphold the self-respect of the poor, having initiated the construction of 450,000 houses in the first phase. We are providing social security pensions to 4.3 million people across the state, including the elderly, widows, persons with disabilities, and handloom workers.
The people’s government has approved the revision of minimum wages, a matter that had been pending for twelve years, thereby benefiting approximately 11.1 million workers. We have implemented a welfare act for gig workers that serves as a model for the entire country. The reforms undertaken by the people’s government in the education sector are yielding clear results; Telangana has moved from the 28th to the 18th position in the Performance Grading Index announced by the Central Government. The government has treated this as a matter of utmost priority. So far, we have completed the recruitment of over 72,000 personnel across various government departments. We successfully conducted recruitment drives for Group-1, Group-2, Group-3, and Group-4 categories, as well as the Mega DSC. We did not stop merely at issuing notifications; we completed the examinations, declared results, finalized the selection process, and handed over appointment letters to the candidates. Notifications were issued to fill 456 posts through TGPSC and 7,437 posts through the Police Recruitment Board. The people’s government has taken numerous measures to strengthen the public healthcare sector.
We have undertaken the construction of a new 2,000-bed Osmania Hospital in Goshamahal. In addition to a super-specialty hospital in Warangal, we are establishing three TIMS super-specialty hospitals in Sanathnagar, Alwal, and LB Nagar. We have inaugurated nine new government medical colleges and are constructing new buildings for eight others. Furthermore, we have launched 16 new nursing colleges and 28 paramedical colleges.
We are cracking down heavily on the drug menace and food adulteration. To combat these issues, we are establishing the new ‘TG-SAFE’ system, which brings food adulteration control and drug enforcement under a single umbrella. We will take stringent measures to curb adulteration by conducting extensive inspections through the coordinated efforts of dedicated legal, laboratory, and enforcement wings. Government employees and officials are key partners in the successes of this people’s government.
Their cooperation is crucial across the board—from boosting government revenue and delivering welfare schemes to the last-mile beneficiary, to attracting investments and expanding public services in all sectors. To resolve public grievances at the *Mandal* level itself, we are launching the ‘Praja Vani’ program at all MPDO offices across the state starting on the 17th of this month. This program will be conducted every Monday. We will also soon launch a ‘Praja Vani’ online portal, enabling people to submit their grievances from anywhere.
Telangana is not competing with other states; it is competing with the world. That is why we have initiated measures to build world-class infrastructure. Under this people-centric governance, confidence in Telangana among national and international entrepreneurs has grown. This is evidenced by Telangana emerging as a ‘Top Achiever’ in the Business Reforms Action Plan across sectors such as business entry, construction permit enablers, the service sector, and land administration.
We will once again host the ‘Telangana Rising Global Summit’ this year to showcase the investment opportunities available in the state to the world. Telangana is surging ahead in the IT sector. By 2025-26, the state’s IT exports reached ₹3.97 lakh crore, and direct IT employment rose to 12.14 lakh jobs. Currently, over 355 Global Capability Centers (GCCs) are operational in Hyderabad, with 40 new centers established in the city in 2026 alone.
Telangana has emerged as one of the fastest-growing destinations in the country for data centers, cloud computing, and artificial intelligence. Amazon has announced an additional investment of $7 billion in the state. One of the country’s largest hyperscale, AI-ready cloud infrastructure campuses is taking shape in the ‘Bharat Future City’ and Chandanvelly regions.
“The ‘Bharat Future City’ and the Musi Rejuvenation Project are set to transform the face of Hyderabad. We will fully support the farmers who have provided land for the Future City. I urge the people living in the Musi catchment area to understand the situation with a broad perspective; we will ensure that no one suffers any loss or hardship in this process. We are moving forward with the resolve to achieve both welfare and development. With divine blessings and your support, we will achieve even greater successes,” the Chief Minister stated in a detailed message.
