CM Revanth Reddy announces handover 3,000 buses to RTC on rental basis through women’s self-help groups

Chief Minister Shri. Revanth Reddy announced that an additional 3,000 buses will be handed over to women’s self-help groups in the coming days. He stated that, in addition to the 553 buses handed over to RTC today under the Mahila Shakti scheme, another 3,000 buses will be handed over to RTC on a rental basis through women’s groups.

Under the Praja Palana – Pragati Pranalika program, the Chief Minister participated in the women’s carnival held at Secunderabad Parade Grounds. In the program handing over the operation of 553 buses under the Mahila Shakti scheme—managed by women’s groups—he flagged off the buses to launch them.

In this program, Ministers Smt.Seethakka garu, Komatireddy garu, Ponnam. Prabhakar garu, several public representatives, senior officials, and women from self-help groups participated in large numbers.

They declared that there will be no rest until one crore women are made crorepatis. They said measures will be taken so that whichever district, mandal, or village groups purchase buses, they will be handed over to RTC.

“There are currently 67 lakh members in self-help groups. Enroll one crore as members. The responsibility to make one crore girls into crorepatis is mine,” said the Chief Minister, comprehensively explaining the programs undertaken for women’s welfare on this occasion.

“Women’s power has a place in this government. As part of the goal to make one crore women crorepatis by 2034, we have launched several programs. I will soon tour every parliamentary constituency. Women’s groups should prepare local business plans,” he said.

“Farmers in the state should think in the direction of profitable agriculture. Crop diversification must happen. Instead of just paddy and maize, they should cultivate pulses like red gram and black gram, vegetables, and fruit orchards. We have launched an international fruit market with Rs. 2,400 crores to market agricultural produce,” he reminded.

“Awareness should be created among farmers and farmers’ associations on crop diversification. Women’s groups should take up that responsibility. Educated and aware women in women’s groups should instill awareness among farmers,” he urged.

“I will fully cooperate to make girls financially independent. If there is women’s oversight, welfare and development programs will run smoothly—that’s why we are handing over implementation responsibilities to them in many areas. We are sanctioning Indiramma houses in women’s names only.

Plans are being prepared to build 1 lakh houses in urban areas. Those houses will also be given in women’s names. Any property should be in the name of women. This program, started with good intentions, has even been blessed by Lord Varuna,” the Chief Minister expressed delight.

“Through the #MahalaxmiScheme, by providing free travel facilities for women in RTC, the government has paid over Rs. 10,000 crores to RTC. Under the Amma Adarsha Pathashala name, we have handed over the management responsibility of 27,000 schools in the state to women.

We have given them the responsibility of managing Mahila Shakti canteens. We are handing over petrol pumps. We have instructed collectors to identify government lands in district centers wherever available and provide opportunities to set up petrol pumps. We have inaugurated 8,000 Stree Shakti buildings at once.

In the future, #MahilaShakthi buildings at the corporate level are coming up in district centers to formulate plans. Not only are we providing Rs. 61,000 crores in bank linkage to self-help groups, but we have also paid Rs. 2,000 crores to banks under zero-interest loans,” he said.

As part of the Mahila Shakti and Mahalaxmi schemes, on this occasion, the Chief Minister handed over checks to self-help associations and mandal women’s associations. He provided checks worth Rs. 20.34 crores as rent for the buses handed over to RTC, Rs. 10,700 crores saved under free travel, and Rs. 500 crores under the interest-free loan scheme.
