A Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Sri Revanth Reddy decided to provide breakfast and lunch to teachers and staff, in addition to students, in government schools and junior colleges across the state.
The Cabinet meeting, held at the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar State Secretariat under the chairmanship of the Chief Minister, deliberated on several key issues and made decisions. It resolved to extend the scheme—which already covers students—to the 1.5 lakh teachers, lecturers, and staff members across the state’s government schools and colleges.
The Cabinet decided to approach the Supreme Court regarding the ‘VBG Ramji’ scheme. This decision follows the Central Government’s move to proceed with the scheme despite the divergent views expressed by various states.

They stated that the meeting held an extensive discussion on the report submitted by the Cabinet sub-committee—previously constituted under the leadership of Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy—regarding the ‘VBG Ramji’ scheme. This scheme was introduced by the Central Government to replace the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS), which was launched during the UPA government’s tenure in 2006 to ensure employment security for workers.
They noted that although the Legislative Assembly had passed a unanimous resolution opposing the ‘VBG Ramji’ scheme—viewing it as detrimental to the rights of the poor—the Central Government is implementing it without modification and without considering the states’ objections. It was stated that the decision to implement the employment guarantee scheme in the state was taken to ensure that wage seekers under the scheme did not suffer losses amidst unavoidable circumstances.
The Cabinet decided to undertake large-scale recruitment for the newly upcoming TIMS super-specialty hospitals. It sanctioned 6,278 posts for the appointment of doctors and medical staff at the TIMS facilities in Sanathnagar, LB Nagar, and Alwal, as well as at the Warangal super-specialty hospital.
The Cabinet resolved to develop these hospitals along the lines of NIMS. It was also decided to issue Letters of Credit (LOCs) from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund for the medical services provided at these facilities.
The Cabinet granted administrative approval for the completion of Phase-1 of the Hyderabad Musi Riverfront Project, covering a 21-km stretch up to Gandhi Sarovar. Ministers stated that the tender process for this would commence soon and noted that the Cabinet had approved an allocation of ₹7,345 crore for the development of the Phase-1 project.
