DGCA conducted 5,745 surveillance activities in 2023
Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has intensified its safety oversight efforts and as a result, it conducted a staggering five thousand 745 surveillance during the last year which is an all-time high.
These surveillances include four thousand 39 planned surveillance, and one thousand 706 spot checks and night surveillance. This marked a notable increase of 26 percent of surveillance activities compared to the year 2022, emphasizing the commitment to ensure compliance and safety within the aviation landscape.
DGCA in a statement said that a total of 542 enforcement actions were taken in the year 2023 witnessing a 77 percent increase as compared to the 305 enforcement actions carried out for the year 2022.
It said that extensive surveillance mechanisms play a pivotal role in safety, mitigating potential safety risks and enhancing safety margins across the industry.
