Kanchenjunga Express derails near New Jalpaiguri: 5 killed, 30 injured

Kanchanjungha Express collides with Goods train: 8 People Including 3 Railways Officials Killed: Congress Criticizes, PM Announces Ex-Gratia

At least five people have been killed and 30 injured after two compartments of the Sealdah-bound Kanchanjunga Express derailed following a collision with a goods train near New Jalpaiguri station in West Bengal this morning. Rescue operations are ongoing.

Railway sources said a container train overshot the signal and hit the rear portion of the Kanchanjunga Express, which had two parcel vans and a guard coach in the rear. NDRF, Divisional team, and 15 ambulances have reached the site. Help desks have been opened at different locations.
