South Africa defeated Sri Lanka by 102 runs at Arun Jaitley Stadium, New Delhi
Put into bat, the Proteas amassed a mammoth total of 428 runs for 5 wickets in the stipulated 50 overs. For South Africa, Van der Dussen, Markram and De Kock smashed quick-fire centuries which was also the highest by a team in the World Cup.
Dilshan Madushanka picked up two wickets for Sri Lanka. Chasing the target, Srilankan players Charith Asalanka, Kusal Mendis and skipper Dasun Shanaka played good knocks but it was not enough.
Srilanka were all out for 326 in 44.5 overs. Gerald Coetzee scalped 3 wickets for South Africa. In another match, Bangladesh defeated Afghanistan by six wickets at Dharamshala.
Sent to bat, Afghanistan were all out for 156 in just 37.2 overs. Gurbaz top scored for the team with 47 runs. Shakib and Mehidy took three wickets each for Bangladesh.
