Anurag Thakur honors Chess Grandmaster R. Praggnanandhaa and his parents in New Delhi
Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Anurag Thakur honored Chess Grandmaster Rameshbabu Praggnanandhaa at his New Delhi residence today. Praggnanandhaa brought glory to India by winning the silver medal in the World Chess Championship. The parents of the 18-year-old Grandmaster were also present.
The Minister honored Praggnanandhaa and his parents as per Himachali customs and had a discussion on their lives, struggles, and techniques. Wishing Praggnanandhaa all the best for his future, Mr Thakur said that Praggnanandha has amazing talent at a very young age due to which he has made the entire country proud.
He gave the credit for India’s amazing performance in the field of sports in recent times to the changes made in the last nine years under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Mr Thakur asserted that India will emerge as a sports superpower in the coming days.
