Amarnath Yatra security convoy vehicle meets with accident in Udhampur district
An Amarnath Yatra security convoy vehicle met with an accident in Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir in the morning today, leaving four people including a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) injured.
However, the Yatra convoy moved smoothly. The incident took place when the security convoy vehicle fell into a drain along the sides of the road on the Jammu-Srinagar highway, near Bali Nallah in Udhampur. The injured were shifted to Udhampur District Hospital for treatment.
Earlier in the morning, the Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha, flagged off the first batch of more than 3400 Amarnath Yatra pilgrims from the Bhagwati Nagar Base Camp in Jammu for Pahalgam and Baltal under tight security. The Yatra will formally commence from tomorrow from the twin routes of Nunwan in Pahalgam and Baltal in the Ganderbal district of Kashmir
