Gauhati: Over 34,000 people affected due to floods in 16 districts of Assam

Over 34,000 people are affected due to floods in 16 districts of Assam. Flood waters also submerged large crop areas as well as damaged infrastructure. 25 people are shifted to a temporary relief camp at Dotma in Kokrajhar district.

24 relief distribution centers are also being operated by the district administration at various places. Along with floods, land erosion and landslides at various places have also been reported.

The state disaster management authority has instructed people staying in the riverine areas not to venture into rising waters and also avoid fishing, swimming.
