TGFDC’s Botanical Garden Conducts Flora & Fauna Awareness Programme on Nocturnal Walk

As part of the ongoing Praja Palana – Pragathi Pranalika celebrations, Telangana Forest Development Corporation Ltd. (TGFDC), under its eco-tourism brand Deccan Woods & Trails, successfully organized a “Flora & Fauna Importance” Awareness Programme at the Botanical Garden, Hyderabad, on Thursday. Conducted from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM, the programme was led by the Naturalists of the Eco-Tourism Division and focused on the importance of biodiversity conservation, protection of natural resources and maintaining ecological balance. A total of 15 nature enthusiasts participated in the session and actively engaged in discussions on environmental conservation and sustainable living practices.

On this occasion, Smt. K. Shireesha, Senior Divisional Manager & Assistant Director, Eco-Tourism Division, TGFDC, addressed the participants and emphasized the vital role of public awareness and community participation in conserving biodiversity. She highlighted the significance of protecting flora and fauna for future generations and encouraged citizens to actively support environmental conservation initiatives. The interactive session enabled participants to gain a deeper understanding of local ecosystems and the importance of preserving natural habitats.

Further, a special “Nocturnal Walk” programme has been scheduled at the Botanical Garden from 7:30 PM to 10:00 PM today, offering participants an opportunity to explore nocturnal wildlife and learn about the ecological importance of night-time ecosystems. As of 2:00 PM, more than 20 enthusiasts had confirmed their participation in the event.

The programme was attended by Smt. K. Shireesha, Senior Divisional Manager & Assistant Director, Eco-Tourism; Sri V. Lakshma Reddy, Plantation Manager; Sri K. Suman, Projects Manager; M. Akhil – Head Naturalist: Dr. I. Veera Kishore, Botanist and Naturalists Samson Raju, Rohith and Vamshi Praveen, along with other officers and staff members of TGFDC. Necessary arrangements have been made for the smooth conduct of the programme, which is expected to further strengthen public awareness on biodiversity conservation and responsible eco-tourism.
