Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar inaugurated the Ananthagiri Eco Urban Park in Vikarabad district on Monday. The event was attended by Municipal Chairperson Gaddam Ananya, PCCF (HoFF) Dr. Suvarna, Forest Development Corporation MD Smt. Sunitha Bhagwat, CCF (Charminar Circle) Dr. Priyanka Varghese, Director of Tourism Ranjith Naik, and DFO Gnaneshwar.
Speaking on the occasion, Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar remarked that the Ananthagiri region stands out for its pristine natural beauty. He noted that, given its proximity to Hyderabad, the region holds immense potential to develop into a hub for eco-tourism. He stated that the government would extend its full support for the development of eco-tourism, which would, in turn, enhance employment opportunities for the local youth. He also suggested that additional cottages be established within the Ananthagiri area.
PCCF (HoFF) Dr. Suvarna observed that the Ananthagiri forest area spans approximately 3,600 acres and possesses unique geographical characteristics. She highlighted that the presence of grasslands, rocky terrains, medicinal plants, and dense forest cover makes this region truly distinctive.
Two gazebos and a watchtower constructed within the park were also inaugurated during the event. The PCCF noted that these facilities would provide visitors with an opportunity to admire the scenic beauty of the forest, as well as the surrounding villages, lakes, and agricultural fields. She noted that the “Chatri Sunrise Viewpoint” and the watchtower—which serves as a special attraction for sunset viewing—stand out as key highlights of the area.
Subsequently, Speaker Sri Prasad Kumar visited the source region of the Musi (Muchukunda) River and inaugurated the beautification works. He suggested that further beautification initiatives be undertaken within the Musi River basin area.
Speaking on the occasion, CCF Dr. Priyanka Varghese stated that additional eco-tourism experiences would be made available to visitors in this region. DFO Gnaneshwar announced that zipline and zip-cycling facilities would be established shortly.
The Forest Development Corporation has developed and opened four cottages at Ananthagiri. Upon inaugurating these cottages, the Speaker suggested that further amenities be provided.
