Shri Sanjay Kumar Srivastava, General Manager, South Central Railway undertook inspection of Secunderabad Divisional Headquarters (Sanchalan Bhavan, Secunderabad) today i.e., 03rd June, 2026. He was accompanied by Principal Heads of the Departments, SCR; Dr. R. Gopalakrishnan, Divisional Railway Manager, Secunderabad Division and other senior officials and branch officers during the inspection.
Consequent upon the formation of new South Coast Railway zone with effect from 01st June, 2026, certain sections of Guntakal and Guntur divisions viz. Wadi – Raichur section and Pagidipalli – Vishnupuram – Janpahad section respectively were added to the jurisdiction of Secunderabad Division. Simultaneously, the Motumari – Kondapalli section of Secunderabad Division was merged with Vijayawada Division.
To facilitate efficient train operations across the newly added sections, two new Section Control Boards have been commissioned in addition to the existing six control boards at the Divisional Control Office, Sanchalan Bhavan, Secunderabad. These control boards will enhance effective monitoring of passenger, express and freight train movements in the newly integrated sections, thereby ensuring seamless train operations.
In this regard, Shri Sanjay Kumar Srivastava, General Manager, SCR conducted a detailed inspection of the newly commissioned Section Control Boards at the control room. He reviewed the operational arrangements put in place for monitoring train movements in the newly added sections and assessed the preparedness to handle the expanded jurisdiction effectively. He emphasized the importance of close coordination, continuous monitoring to ensure safe, efficient and punctual train operations across the network.
Further, the General Manager also inspected the Traction Power Control Room, which monitors the electrical supply and working of Overhead Equipment for Locos and train engines. He also reviewed the newly added sections which have been commissioned in the Traction Power Control system to ensure smooth and reliable train operations. He also inspected the existing Telecom test room established for providing seamless and effective communications.
Shri Sanjay Kumar Srivastava, General Manager participated in SONAR (Staff Orientation and New Administrative Realignment) at Hawamahal, Sanchalan Bhavan. During the session, the General Manager interacted with over 30 senior supervisors, staff and officers of the newly commissioned sections belonging to different departments viz. Operating, Commercial, Engineering, Signal & Telecommunications, Traction Distribution and Medical. Addressing the gathering, the General Manager highlighted the new alignment of the division and encouraged the staff to view the transition as a valuable opportunity for professional growth. He assured the staff that any concerns will be addressed in timely manner and assured full support during the integration process.
