Railway Board Issues Orders Transferring 7 Railway Stations From East Coast Railway Zone To South Coast Railway Zone

Union Minister for Civil Aviation, Shri Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu, expressed his delight over the Railway Board’s issuance of orders transferring seven railway stations—spanning the stretch from Ichchapuram to Palasa within the Khurda Division of the East Coast Railway Zone—to the South Coast Railway Zone, which is headquartered in Visakhapatnam.

The Minister noted that, having waged a tireless struggle for the establishment of the Visakhapatnam-centric South Coast Railway Zone, he had subsequently made repeated representations—both on the floor of Parliament and in his capacity as a Minister—to the Railway Minister, urging the inclusion of these seven key stations located in the Srikakulam district following the zone’s official announcement.

Minister Ram Mohan Naidu extended his special gratitude to the Railway Board for giving concrete shape to his request by issuing these orders, as well as to Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He further stated that he intends to fully leverage this opportunity to foster the development of railway infrastructure in Srikakulam and the entire North Andhra region.
