GITAM Faculty Member Appointed to CBFC Advisory Panel

Dr.MythiliMarattAnoop, Associate Professor at GITAM Deemed to be University, Hyderabad, has been appointed as a Member of the Advisory Panel of the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), Hyderabad Region, by the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India.

According to an official communication issued by Dr. Rahul Gowlikar, Regional Officer, CBFC, Hyderabad, Dr.Mythili will serve on the Advisory Panel for a period of three years or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Dr.MythiliMarattAnoop is an acclaimed performing artist, educator, and researcher with over two decades of dedicated contribution to Indian classical dance, particularly Mohiniyattam. An empanelled artist of both the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) and Doordarshan, she has earned widespread recognition for her artistic excellence and scholarly contributions.

Her distinguished career includes several acclaimed solo theatrical productions, dance films, and lead performances in notable works such as PremRaqs Rasa, Poothappaattu, and Dushala. In recognition of her contributions to the field of performing arts, she was honoured with the prestigious Rukmini Devi Arundale Award 2025 and was felicitated by the Telangana SangeetNatak Academy.

Apart from her artistic accomplishments, Dr.Mythili holds a Ph.D. from IIT Bombay and serves as an Associate Professor at GITAM, Hyderabad. She is also a published author whose work advances the fields of dance, theatre, and cultural studies through research, teaching, and creative practice.

Expressing happiness over this distinguished recognition, GITAM leadership, including Prof. D.S.Rao, Pro Vice-Chancellor, GITAM Hyderabad; D.V.V.S.R. Varma, Resident Director; Dr.ShamuelTharu, Director In-Charge, GITAM School of Humanities and Social Sciences; and Ambika Philip, Director – Hospitality & Campus Life, congratulated Dr.Mythili on her appointment and described it as a matter of pride for the University and its academic community.
