Good news for students: Chief Minister Sri Revanth Reddy has announced that fee reimbursement funds will be deposited into students’ accounts in advance every year. He stated that students who apply online will receive the funds directly in their accounts without needing to make a specific request for the reimbursement.
The Chief Minister unveiled statues of Jyotirao Phule and Savitribai Phule—installed opposite the HMDA grounds on Necklace Road—and paid tribute to these great figures.
The event was attended by Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Mallu; Ministers D. Sridhar Babu, Konda Surekha, Ponnam Prabhakar, Vakiti Srihari, and Azmeera Chandulal; Advisors K. Keshav Rao and V. Hanumantha Rao; MLC and PCC President B. Mahesh Goud; as well as numerous MPs, MLCs, and MLAs.

Starting this academic year, we are making fee reimbursement funds available in bank accounts in advance. The government has decided to overhaul this system and implement the scheme with greater transparency by depositing ₹2,400 crore into students’ accounts annually.” “He urged students to acquire technical skills in tune with the changing times. There was a time when possessing an engineering or medical degree guaranteed a job, but that is no longer the case; today, employment depends on having the right skills. Therefore, education from nursery to Class 12 should be followed by skill training. “The government is moving forward with a comprehensive understanding of the importance of technical skills. Students should pursue opportunities in ATCs, polytechnics, and the #SkillsUniversity to acquire these skills. For instance, young women trained in nursing can find lucrative job opportunities—offering around ₹2 lakh—in countries like Japan and South Korea.
Academic competition has intensified, with many students scoring over 90 percent marks. However, academic excellence is not the only path to success; there are those who excel in technical skills and others who shine in sports. There are hidden gems—’diamonds in the rough’—waiting to be discovered,” he remarked.
The Chief Minister announced that through the ‘Young India Sports University,’ those who excel in sports would be awarded a cash prize of ₹1 crore in addition to a government job; he cited boxing champion Nikhat Zareen, Siraj, and Deepti Diwanji as examples. “Excel in sports. Win medals at the state level and bring honor to the nation. Win medals at the Olympics. It is my responsibility to provide government jobs and cash rewards.
Lives and destinies change only through education. Employment and livelihood opportunities arise only when one possesses technical skills. One must seize opportunities and compete for them.
In the past, a degree in Computer Science guaranteed a job in America; that situation has changed. A technological revolution has occurred. #AI poses a risk to jobs held by engineering, general degree, and IT professionals. We need to consider how to tackle this crisis.
We are bringing about revolutionary changes through the ‘Young India Integrated Residential School’ system, with the goal of fostering social harmony and bridging caste divides by having students from all communities live and learn together,” he explained.
He noted that the installation of statues honoring great figures like Jyotirao Phule and Savitribai Phule is not merely for observing birth and death anniversaries; rather, these statues serve as sources of inspiration, reminding us of the sacrifices and greatness of these icons.
He stated that the statues were unveiled here with the aim of inspiring students not only to excel in academics but also to work towards societal development with a sense of social consciousness.
