India’s Abhishek Clinches Bronze At Under-23 Wrestling World Championship 2024 In Tirana, Albania

In wrestling, India’s Abhishek has clinched the Bronze medal at the Under 23 Wrestling World Championship 2024 in Tirana, Albania. He defeated Mykyta Abramov of Ukraine, 3-NIL in the Men’s 61 Kg Freestyle category, last night. Bashir Magomedov bagged the gold, Ruslan Asif Abdullayev of Azerbaijan won the silver, while Ebrahim Mahdi Khari shared the bronze with Abhishek.

Another Indian grappler Chirag has entered the final of the Men’s 57 kg Freestyle category. The 18 year old defeated the Kazakhstani wrestler Allan Oralbek, 8-NIL in the semi-final last night. With this victory, Chirag has become the 3rd Indian to reach the finals in the 57 Kg, after Ravi Dahiya and Aman Sehrawat. He will lock lock horns with Abdymalik Karachov of Kyrgyzstan in the final tonight.

Meanwhile, Sujeet in the 70 kg category and Vicky in the 97 kg catogry will participate in the bronze medal matches today. Sujeet faced a defeat to Magomedov Bashir Khaniev of Azerbaijan, 4-8, while Vicky lost to Mahdi Moharamali Hajiloueian Morafah 8-12 in the semi-finals last night.
