Visakhapatnam: Indira Gandhi Zoo Park organizes Plantation Drive at Butterfly Park under Mission LiFE
Indira Gandhi Zoological Park conducted Plantation Drive at the Butterfly Park as part of the Mission LiFE Program and annual Stantec in the Community initiative. This event marked a pivotal contribution from Morrison Hershfield now Stantec, provided host and nectar plants specifically for the Butterfly Park, spearheaded by Tyler Julliard, Country Manager.
A team of over 40 dedicated individuals and Zoo staff participated in a plantation drive at the Butterfly Park in Indira Gandhi Zoological Park. These plants play a crucial role in creating a sustainable habitat for butterflies, fostering an environment rich in biodiversity and natural beauty said Smt. Mangamma, Curator, Indira Gandhi Zoological Park.
The initiative aims to boost local flora, support pollinators, and raise awareness about the importance of conserving butterfly species. Indira Gandhi Zoological Park, known for its diverse array of animal species and conservation efforts, is proud to collaborate with Stantec in this endeavor, said Tyler Julliard, Country Manager.
In this Plantation drive the Zoo officials Sri. Gopi, Assistant Curator -1, Smt. Bharathi, Forest Section Officer – 1, Sri. Rajesh, Forest Section Officer – 2 were present.
