Union Minister Manohar Lal Reviews Chennai Metro Rail Projects
Union Minister of State for Housing and Urban Affairs and Power Manohar Lal today reviewed the ongoing Chennai Metro Rail Projects along with Tam Nadu Chief Minister M.K.Stalin at Chennai.
The Chief Minister informed that the first phase of CMRL began in 2007 at a cost of Rs. 22, 150 Crores for two pathways of 54.1 km in Chennai and more than three lakh people were benefited by it everyday.
The second phase has been taken up at a cost of Rs. 63 thousand 246 Crores in three ways upto 118 .9 kilometres. Mr.Stain said that Rs.19 thousand 229 Crore was spent till now.
The Chief Secretary of the State N.Muruganandam and top officials of various departments connected to the work of the second phase of CMRL took part in the meeting.
