Andhra Pradesh: Visakhapatnam Zoo Park Conducts 3-Day National Level Capacity Building Workshop for Zoo Conservation Biologist
3 Days National Level Capacity Building Workshop for Zoo Conservation Biologists organizing at Indira Gandhi Zoological Park, Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, in collaboration with the Central Zoo Authority (CZA), New Delhi from 24th to 26th October, 2024 was inaugurated by the Chief Guest Sri B.M.Diwan Mydeen, IFS, Conservator of Forests, Visakhapatnam.
The workshop brought together leading experts from across the country to share insights on improving zoo practices and enhancing the welfare of captive animals said Smt. G. Mangamma, Curator, IGZP, Visakhapatnam.
The workshop featured discussions on a variety of specialized topics, including Animal Enclosures Design & Exhibits, Species-specific tagging animals or birds during their birth or sub-adult stages to ensure efficient management, importance of formulating balanced diets, monitoring and Record Keeping,
Studying snakes in the captivity and CZA-MIS addressed by the Experts include Dr. Devender Kumar, EMO, Central Zoo Authority (CZA). Dr. Gowri Mallapur, Director (Research and Conservation) Gaia Mitra Collective Foundation, Dr. Asit Das, Principal Scientist, IVRI, Bareilly, Sh. This workshop represents a significant step towards enhancing the professional capabilities of Zoo Conservation Biologists and promoting best practices in wildlife conservation across India.
