Andhra Pradesh: Govt Forms SIT To Investigate Ghee Adulteration In Tirupati Laddu

The Andhra Pradesh government has formed a nine-member Special Investigation Team (SIT) headed by IPS officer Sarva Shreshth to investigate the adulteration of ghee used in the ‘laddu prasadam’ of Tirumala Temple.

Before that, Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has issued a show-cause notice to the ghee supplier over the allegation of adulteration in Tirupati Laddu.

According to the official sources, all four ghee samples of the supplier failed in the quality test.

Earlier, Union Health Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda said that his ministry also sought a report on the issue from the Andhra Pradesh Government.
