T20 WC: India will take on Afghanistan in Super 8 clash at Bridgetown in Barbados: India opt to bat

India and Afghanistan will begin their ICC T20 World Cup 2024 Super 8 campaign (Group 1) in a mega encounter. The match will be played at Kensington Oval, Bridgetown in Barbados at 8 PM IST. India won the toss and elected to bat.

 Lovely weather conditions. 58m, 67m square boundaries, 70m down the ground. It looks a really good pitch with a few cracks on it. The ball should come on to the bat nicely and the bowlers need to bowl in the right areas. Batters should prosper on this wicket. A bat first pitch, reckons Sunil Gavaskar.

Or is there a case of Jaiswal at the top and Kohli going down to his usual number 3? There are so many questions which the management will answer in a few moments from now.

India’s combination so far of three pacers and two spinners and a pace bowling all-rounder might well be rejigged. India might include Kuldeep Yadav at the expense of someone. Who will give way to him is a big question mark?! Afghanistan have played like a well oiled machine but came a cropper on a flat track against the Windies. So, in case it is another flat track, the Afghan bowlers will have to be smarter.
