TN CS asks Collectors of all districts to take precautionary measures due to Cyclone Remal: Air India flight services cancelled

Tamil Nadu Chief Secretary Shiv Das Meena has asked all the district collectors to take pre emptive steps due to cyclone Remal. Speaking to the media in Chennai, he said that desilting works are being carried out in all the districts in case of rain during south west monsoon.

He said that flood prone areas have been identified and remedial measures have been taken to tackle the challenges of North East monsoon also. Teams have been set up at zonal, district and State level to coordinate and take steps at local and state level. Coastal areas of Southern districts and some western districts are witnessing rainfall due to the South West monsoon for the past week.

Air India Flight Services Between Chennai And Andaman Cancelled For Day

Air India flight services between Chennai and Andaman have been cancelled for the day. According to a statement, flight services between Kolkata and Andaman and Andhra to Port Blair also stands cancelled due to the Cyclone Remal until further announcement. Due to the cancellation, passengers awaiting the flights are stranded at Chennai Airport.
