Indira Gandhi Zoological Park (IGZP), Visakhapatnam is happy to inform that an Ostrich, known as the World’s largest bird have been adopted by M.V.S.HARSHINI and M.V.S.LEKHAJ daughter of E. Uma Devi, Administrative Officer, IGZP and M. Adinarayana under the Animal Adoption Program of IGZP.
The zoo warmly welcomes to the IGZP Animal Adoption family, which continues to play an integral role in zoo management and wildlife conservation support. A contribution of ₹10,000/- (Rupees Ten Thousand only) has been made towards the adoption of the Ostrich for a period of one year from 26.05.2026 to 25.05.2027 under the Animal Adoption Program of IGZP, Visakhapatnam.
The zoo sincerely acknowledges M.V.S.HARSHINI and M.V.S.LEKHAJ for supporting wildlife care and conservation through this adoption initiative, said Smt. G. Mangamma, Curator, IGZP. The adopters were presented with Animal Adoption Certificates and souvenir kits. It was highlighted that the Animal adoption program provides structured engagement opportunities and associated privileges to contributors while encouraging public participation in wildlife conservation.
The donation made towards animal adoption is eligible for exemption under Section 80G(5) of the Income Tax Act, 1961 (under the Old Tax Regime). The adopters were acknowledged by Smt. G.
