Visakhapatnam: Indira Gandhi Zoo Park to celebrate World Wildlife Day on March 3

On the occasion of World Wildlife Day (3 March 2026), Indira Gandhi Zoo Park will organize special programs to celebrate it with the theme “Medicinal and Aromatic Plants: Conserving Health, Heritage and Livelihoods”. As part of this, a drawing competition will be held on March 1, 2026 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, along with programs like Zoo Bioscope, said Indira Gandhi Zoological Park Curator Mrs. G. Mangamma.

The competition is open to participants under the following categories:

• Category 1 (Grade 1–5): Animals, Plants and Nature in the Zoo
• Category 2 (Grade 6–10): Medicinal Plants Supporting Coexistence of Humans and Wildlife
• Category 3 (Intermediate to Postgraduate): Medicinal and Aromatic Plants in Wildlife Conservation

Drawing sheets will be provided to all participants. Selected artworks will be exhibited as part of the World Wildlife Day celebrations at the Zoo Bioscope. Participants are requested to bring their own
drawing materials such as crayons, colour pencils, sketch pens, or watercolours.
