TGFDC Launches “Praja Palana – Pragathi Pranalika” Environmental Protection Programme

The Telangana Forest Development Corporation Limited (TGFDC) formally launched its state-wide environmental awareness and conservation campaign under the Government of Telangana’s flagship programme “PrajaPalana – PragathiPranalika” at the Botanical Garden, Kondapur on Monday.

The initiative, scheduled from 1st June to 12th June 2026, aims to promote environmental conservation, cleanliness, sustainable living, plantation protection and community participation across TGFDC’s Eco-Tourism destinations, plantations and public outreach centres.

Speaking on the occasion, Smt. Sunitha M. Bhagavath, IFS, Vice Chairperson & Managing Director, TGFDC, stated that environmental protection is not solely the responsibility of government agencies but a collective responsibility of every citizen.

She emphasized that plastic pollution has emerged as one of the biggest environmental challenges affecting ecosystems, wildlife and human health. She urged citizens to adopt sustainable alternatives, reduce dependence on single-use plastics and actively participate in cleanliness and conservation initiatives.

She further noted that through the PrajaPalana – PragathiPranalika programme, TGFDC aims to strengthen public awareness, community participation and environmental stewardship while fostering a culture of sustainability across Telangana.

“The future of our forests, water resources and biodiversity depends on the actions we take today. Every citizen can contribute by keeping surroundings clean, avoiding plastic waste, protecting trees and supporting environmental conservation efforts,” she said.

Representatives from Green Earth Integrated Facility Management Services and Switcheko Sustainability Solutions, including Sri Akshay, Director, Switcheko Sustainability Solutions, actively participated in the programme and contributed to the environmental awareness sessions.
