Telangana: World Wildlife Day celebrations at Mahavir Harina Vanasthali National Park in Hyderabad
World Wildlife Day was celebrated in a grand manner in Mahavir Harina Vanasthali National Park in Hyderabad city. This program was organized under the auspices of the Forest Department with the aim of creating awareness among the public, especially students, on issues such as wildlife conservation, biodiversity conservation, and ecological balance.
On this occasion, drawing competitions and essay writing competitions were organized for students from various schools. The students expressed their thoughts creatively on topics such as “Importance of Wildlife”, “Our Responsibility – Conservation of Nature”, and “Biodiversity and Future Generations”. The children’s drawings and essays reflected their passion and understanding of nature.
The Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (Wildlife) of Telangana Forest Department, Shri Vinay Kumar, attended and spoke as the chief guest of the program. He said that wildlife is very important for the balance of nature and if biodiversity decreases, human life will also be in danger. He said that conserving forests and protecting wildlife is not only the responsibility of the government but also the duty of every citizen. He especially suggested that students should become friends of nature and play a role in creating awareness in the society.
Prizes and certificates of appreciation were given to the students who excelled in the competitions. After the program, the officials explained to the students about the conservation policies of deer and other wildlife in the park. Awareness was created on issues like conservation of wildlife habitats, reduction of plastic consumption, and tree plantation.
CCF Kshitija, Wildlife OSD Sankaran, Rangareddy District DFO Rohit, Wildlife DCF Anjaneyulu, Sai Prakash, NGOs, staff, teachers and a large number of students participated in this program. He called on the entire society to work together for the conservation of wildlife.
