Hyderabad: June 24, 2026: In a significant step toward advancing technology-led rural development, RuTAGe Smart Village Centres (RSVCs), supported by NABARD in collaboration with the Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India, were inaugurated today at Beerpur PACS in Jagtial district and Nandanam FSCS in Hanumakonda district, Telangana in a virtual event organised by NABARD. This initiative reflects a joint effort to bring science, innovation, and practical technological solutions closer to rural communities.

The event witnessed participation from key stakeholders across the country. Prof. Ajay Kumar Sood, The Principal Scientific Adviser (PSA) to the Government of India was the chief guest of the program. Shri K Surendra Mohan IAS, APC and Secretary (Agriculture and Cooperation), Govt. of Telangana; Shri Shaji K V, Chairman NABARD; Shri A K Sood, DMD NABARD; Shri G S Rawat, DMD NABARD; Shri B Uday Bhaskar, CGM NABARD Telangana RO; CGM NABARD Rural MSME Department, and representatives from Government of Telangana, district administration, DCOs, CEOs of Warangal and Karimnagar DCCBs, officials of line departments, Members & Directors of PACS, farmers and rural entrepreneurs participated in the program.

The RSVC initiative, led by the Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser in partnership with NABARD, aims to convert primary cooperative societies into local technology hubs delivering affordable, need-based solutions for agriculture, value addition, and rural entrepreneurship.
Inaugurating the event virtually, Prof. Ajay Kumar Sood emphasized the importance of strengthening last-mile technology adoption and highlighted the vital role of PACS in bridging the gap between research and its practical application. NABARD Chairman Shri Shaji K.V emphasized that such centres can drive sustainable rural livelihoods.
The Beerpur RSVC has been equipped with technologies including agri drones, soil testing device, smart irrigation system, poha and puffed rice processing units, happy seeder, solar sky tubes. Similarly, the Nandanam RSVC features agri drones, cold press oil extraction machinery, smart irrigation device, puffed rice machine, soil testing device and subjee cooler.

Together, the two centres will serve 20 villages, 18000+ ha of cultivated land and benefit nearly 5000 farmers and cooperative members. The initiative is also poised to generate employment opportunities for rural youth through activities such as drone operations, machinery handling, processing, and service delivery.
Farmers and cooperative leaders present at the event welcomed the initiative and expressed optimism about its practical impact on their livelihoods.
