Telangana: Govt Unveils Next-Gen Life Sciences Policy At Davos

Telangana Government has announced a dedicated Life Sciences Innovation Fund with an initial corpus of 100 crore rupees, scalable to 1,000 crore rupees. Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy unveiled the new next-gen life sciences policy 2026-30 at Davos.

As part of the policy, the fund will be set up in a public-private partnership mode, and it will co-invest along with venture capital and private equity funds to support start-ups, scale-ups, and translational research initiatives.

As per the policy, the state wants to be counted among the top five global life sciences hubs by 2030 and targeted to attract another 25 billion dollar investments with the potential to create 5 lakh jobs over next five years.

A breakthrough in Telangana’s clean energy ambitions took shape at the wef 2026 in Davos, as NUkler Products – a joint venture promoted by Slovakia-based IQ Capital and India-based Green House Enviro – formally expressed interest in partnering with #Telangana to develop a next-generation clean energy project anchored in sustainability and advanced technology.

The joint venture submitted an Expression of Interest (EOI) to explore the development of a Small Modular Reactor (SMR) – based clean energy project in Telangana, with a proposed installed capacity of up to 300 MW and an estimated investment of EUR 600 million (approximately ₹6,000 crore).

The EOI was shared during a meeting with the Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Revanth Reddy led ‘TelanganaRising’ delegation. The company was represented by Dr. Jan Babic, Group Chairman, IQ Capital; Anil Kumar Bavissetty, Group CEO and Director, IQ Capital; and Molugu Sripal Reddy, CEO and Director, Green House Enviro. Matus Gemes, Honorary Consul of the Slovak Republic to the Principality of Liechtenstein, was also present, underscoring the strong international dimension of the engagement.

Welcoming the proposal, Chief Minister stated that Telangana is keen to encourage sustainable, clean, and advanced energy infrastructure projects aligned with the State’s long-term development vision. He emphasized that sustainability is a core pillar of Telangana’s policy framework, particularly in the pursuit of the NetZero target by 2047.

Minister for IT & Industries Shri Sridhar Babu, and Minister for Revenue Shri Ponguleti were also part of the delegation and participated in the discussions, reiterating the Government of Telangana’s commitment to facilitating future-ready and advanced clean energy projects in the State.
