The Forest Department is continuously monitoring the tiger roaming in Telangana to ensure that the public does not face any problem. After the high-level review meeting chaired by PCCF (HoFF)Dr. C. Suvarna, an expert committee meeting was held under the chairmanship of Chief Wildlife Warden, PCCF Mr. Vinay Kumar.
In this meeting, where the tiger is currently roaming, how people should be careful, and the steps to be taken in the coming days were discussed. As of February 8, 2026, the Forest Department teams confirmed that the tiger was in the vicinity of Arepalli village in Siddipet district.
Tracking revealed that the tiger was moving northwards. On February 6 and 7, the tiger’s footprints were seen and it was also recorded that it was seen directly in some places.
Increased surveillance in villages
Special patrol teams have been formed in Siddipet, Jangaon, Karimnagar and Yadadri districts to prevent any harm to the public and the tiger. These teams are roaming around the villages, warning people and keeping a close eye on the tiger’s movements.
Tiger rescue experts from Pune are monitoring the situation, while local veterinary doctors are providing assistance. Officials said that if necessary, steps will be taken to capture the tiger as per NTCA rules.
Police are taking precautionary measures to prevent people from gathering near the tiger hunting areas. The forest department is issuing official information daily to prevent rumors from spreading on social media.
Instructions to villagers
The forest department has advised people in Shanigaram, Koheda mandals and villages around Arepalli to be vigilant. It has been advised not to go out at night unless necessary and to go in groups instead of alone in case of emergency.
