Telangana CM Revanth Reddy urges MoEFCC Bhupender Yadav to promptly grant environmental clearance for Irrigation Projects

Delhi: Chief Minister SriRevanth Reddy has urged Union Minister for Forests and Environment Sri Bhupender Yadav to promptly grant environmental clearances for the Palamur-Rangareddy, Gouravelli, Seethamma Sagar, and Dindi projects. As part of his Delhi visit, the Chief Minister met with the Union Minister in Parliament along with State Irrigation Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy.

In the context of the Supreme Court’s recent favorable ruling on Telangana’s irrigation projects, they requested the Union Minister to immediately approve environmental clearances for these projects.

The Chief Minister reminded that the state government has already spent Rs. 36,437 crore on the Palamur project, Rs. 3,187 crore on the Dindi lift irrigation, Rs. 1,835 crore on Seethamma Sagar, and Rs. 1,350 crore on the Gouravelli project.

He explained to the Union Minister that the delay in granting clearances has stalled the works, leading to increased project costs as a result. In light of the Supreme Court ruling, they urged for immediate clearances to be granted to the projects.

MPs Anil Kumar Yadav, Vem Narendar Reddy, Dr. Mallu Ravi, Ramasahayam Raghuram Reddy, Porika Balram Naik, Gaddam Vankrishna, Dr. Kadiyam Kavya, AP Jitender Reddy, the state’s special representative in Delhi, Water Resources Department Advisor Adityanath Das, and senior officials participated in this meeting.
