Telangana: CM directs TOMCOM to take up Responsibility for Creating Jobs in Abroad: Rtd IFS officer to take charge as CEO

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy said that TOMCOM should take responsibility for providing training required for jobs abroad, along with job fairs, passports, and employment opportunities in those countries. He suggested that TOMCOM should issue passports to those going abroad for employment and enter into agreements with manpower companies in the countries they are heading to.

The Chief Minister reviewed the Energy Department with the Minister of that department, Vivek Venkatswam and senior officials. He stated that a large number of workers from North Telangana go to Middle Eastern countries, and in this process, they are being cheated and facing hardships at the hands of agents.

He opined that by having TOMCOM enter into agreements with foreign companies, it would be possible to hold discussions and ensure justice for those facing any hardships there.

“Details of agents transporting workers abroad should be collected, and details of every individual they send should be registered. We will appoint a former IFS officer as CEO for TOMCOM to oversee these matters. Training in light motor vehicles and heavy motor vehicles driving should also be provided to those going for jobs,” he suggested.

“A research center for new innovations should be established in the Young India Skill University. A special department should be set up in the Skill University to facilitate learning German, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Russian, and other such languages,” he said.

He suggested recruiting teachers from those countries along with locals proficient in those languages to teach foreign languages. Just as overseas scholarships are provided to students going for higher education, the Chief Minister directed officials to study the aspect of providing scholarships to all those undergoing training for blue-collar jobs.

“Opportunities for internships in big companies should be provided to students studying in government engineering colleges, ITIs, ATCs, and polytechnic colleges. By studying on one side and doing internships on the other, they will receive a stipend. They will learn skills related to the jobs they will do in the future,” he said.

“Courses related to #EV services and drone technology should be introduced in ATCs. Given the increasing usage of EVs, there is a need for people who can service them. Since the use of drones in agriculture is growing significantly, a drone technology course should be there,” he suggested.

The Chief Minister explained that there is huge demand for nurses’ services both domestically and abroad. He said that with the aging population in several developed countries, there is demand for home nurses. He informed that permissions are being granted to nursing colleges in line with the growing demand.
