Prakasham Stadium (Kothagudem), August 15: Singareni CMD Dr. Buddhaprakash Jyoti said that with the initiative and support of the State Government, Singareni has secured two new blocks and, with the acquisition of more mines in the coming days, the company will gain renewed strength and dedicate itself once again to the service of the nation by supplying sufficient coal to meet the State’s power requirements.
He welcomed the gathering at the 80th Independence Day Central Function held at Prakasham Stadium, Kothagudem, where he unfurled the National Flag and later delivered his message.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that with the special efforts of the State Government, Singareni secured the Mining Lease for the long-awaited Tadicherla-2 Block. The block provides an opportunity to produce around 340 million tonnes of coal, enabling mining operations there for about 40 years. He also explained that, with the initiative of the State Government, Singareni secured the PK OC-2 Dip-side Block in the auction, which will provide a bright future for the Manuguru Area. This provides a great opportunity to extract around 120 million tonnes of coal reserves and will greatly contribute to the development of Manuguru as well as the Kothagudem region.
He thanked, on behalf of the Singareni management, Hon’ble Chief Minister Sri A. Revanth Reddy and Deputy Chief Minister and Energy Minister Sri Bhatti Vikramarka for continuously reviewing the development of Singareni and extending support for the growth and expansion of the company.
As part of its business expansion initiatives, Singareni is entering the critical minerals sector, he said. The company has obtained a licence for exploration of gold and copper minerals in the Deva Durga area of Karnataka and will commence exploration activities soon. He also explained that preparations are being made to extract Rare Earth Elements present in Singareni’s open cast mines. As part of this, the Singareni Geo-Science Laboratory established at Kothagudem was recently inaugurated by State Deputy Chief Minister Sri Bhatti Vikramarka. This will greatly help in exploration in the critical minerals sector, he said.
State interests are of utmost importance to Singareni, he said. With electricity demand increasing in Telangana, the company is supplying additional coal to the thermal power stations in the State. He also said that coal produced from the Naini Coal Block in Odisha has been brought to STPP. He described this as a major milestone in the history of Singareni.
He said that advanced technology would be implemented to completely prevent accidents in Singareni coal mines. He stated that the company is moving forward with the objective of producing quality coal at lower cost. He called upon employees to work safely and increase production and productivity, thereby reducing the cost of coal production, and to undertake cost-control measures to strengthen the company.
He said that adopting advanced mining methods would enable higher production at lower cost. He stated that Singareni can remain strong only when heavy machinery and human resources are utilised to their full working hours. At the same time, he emphasised the need to explore opportunities in diversification and adopt modern mining methods.
He said that Singareni is committed to the welfare of its workers and has already taken measures to improve medical services. He explained that a Cath Lab has been established at Ramagundam Area Hospital for emergency cardiac care services. He called upon everyone to work collectively to transform Singareni into a stronger national-level mining company.
Earlier, upon reaching the Central Function venue, CMD Dr. Buddhaprakash Jyoti was welcomed by the company’s Directors and leaders of the trade unions. He then unfurled the National Flag. Subsequently, he received the Guard of Honour from the parade conducted by S&P.C., Scouts and Guides, Colour Party and students from various schools.
