Shri Nagarikanti Guru Prasad, Sub Inspector/Railway Protection Force, South Central Railway, has been awarded the Indian Police Medal for Meritorious Service on the occasion of 80th Independence Day 2026 in recognition of his meritorious service.
On this occasion, Shri Sanjay Kumar Srivastava, General Manager, SCR congratulated the awardee and expressed happiness for the recognition received at the National level. He stated that it is a proud moment not just for the Railway Protection Force but for the entire SCR zone and appreciated the efforts of Shri N. Guru Prasad in ensuring safety and security of Rail passengers and property.
Sri Nagarikanti Guru Prasad, Sub Inspector, Railway Protection Force, South Central Railway has been awarded the Indian Police Medal for Meritorious Service in recognition of his distinguished career spanning over 25 years, including more than 08 years in the Special Intelligence Branch, marked by significant contributions in intelligence gathering, crime prevention, passenger security, child rescue operations, and administrative work.
His notable achievements include providing crucial intelligence during the Tuni Train Arson incident, apprehending inter state gangs, handling sensitive passenger agitations, contributing to anti touting and railway property crime detection, and actively participating in Operation Muskaan.
He is a recipient of Minister for Railways’ Award 2019 with a cash prize of ₹1 lakh and also received awards at Divisional Railway Manager and Director General/RPF Levels. Shri N. Guru Prasad is the participant in the President’s Colour Parade 2006 and major national events, making this medal a fitting recognition of his sustained professional competence, integrity, and commitment to duty.
