PM Modi to Join International Yoga Day event in Kolkata on June 21

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will join the main International Yoga Day event in Kolkata on June 21st. A precursor event, “Run for Yoga,” will be organized on June 19th in Kolkata. To mark West Bengal Day, the “Vande Yogam” cultural program will be held on the banks of the Hooghly River, featuring a drone show.

This will be followed by the main International Yoga Day event at Red Road in Kolkata. West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari informed the media today at the state secretariat, Nabanna, that 38,000 people have already registered for the Kolkata event. Pratap Rao Yadav, the Minister of State (Independent Charge) for the Ministry of Ayush, was also present at the press conference.

Minister Pratap Rao Yadav stated that global enthusiasm for International Yoga Day is exceptionally high this year. He noted that people will participate from 2,500 locations worldwide, with events being organised by Indian Missions across the globe

Yoga Workshop Held At Parliament House Annexe Ahead Of International Yoga Day

The Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs organized a Yoga Workshop ahead of International Yoga Day 2026 at Parliament House Annexe in New Delhi yesterday. Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs, Dr. Satya Prakash, inaugurated the workshop and provided a brief overview of the activities to be conducted by the government on the occasion of International Yoga Day 2026.

The workshop was guided by the Professor of Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri National Sanskrit University, Dr. Ramesh Kumar. During the workshop, Dr Kumar explained how practicing yoga during office hours can help reduce stress and enhance work efficiency.
