Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday laid the foundation stone, inaugurated and dedicated multiple development projects worth around ₹9,400 crore in Telangana, describing them as a major boost to infrastructure, manufacturing and seamless connectivity in the state.
Addressing a gathering in Hyderabad, the Prime Minister said the projects would strengthen Telangana’s position as an emerging manufacturing hub while creating thousands of employment opportunities. He stressed that India is progressing rapidly on the “Reforms Express” while simultaneously building world-class infrastructure across sectors.
Highlighting the development of the Zaheerabad Industrial Area, Prime Minister said the upcoming Industrial Smart City would be equipped with modern infrastructure, reliable power supply and advanced ICT networks to attract global investors. He noted that industries related to automobiles, machinery and food processing would provide opportunities for workers and farmers alike.
The Prime Minister also underlined the Centre’s focus on reviving India’s textile strength, saying the PM MITRA Park in Warangal would accelerate the country’s textile revolution. He added that industries setting up units in the park would benefit from Central schemes, including the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme, while generating large-scale employment, particularly for women.
Speaking on infrastructure development, PM Modi said the Union Government has made unprecedented investments in roads, railways and airports over the last 12 years. He said that nearly ₹1.75 lakh crore has been allocated for National Highway development, with Telangana witnessing a major expansion of its highway network during the period.
Referring to the Telangana-Karnataka National Highway widening project, the PM said the initiative would reduce travel time and transportation costs. He also highlighted major railway investments in the state, noting that Telangana now receives an annual railway allocation exceeding ₹5,500 crore, compared to less than ₹1,000 crore for undivided Andhra Pradesh before 2014.
Prime Minister Modi said nearly ₹50,000 crore worth of railway projects are currently underway in Telangana and pointed to the introduction of five Vande Bharat and six Amrit Bharat trains in the state. He also inaugurated sections of the Kazipet-Vijayawada Multi-Tracking Project and dedicated the Kazipet Rail Under Bypass Line to the nation.
Emphasising the importance of energy security, the Prime Minister said the Centre is making large-scale investments to strengthen India’s energy infrastructure. He inaugurated Indian Oil’s new terminal in Malkapur, saying it would help meet Telangana’s growing energy demands and strengthen the regional supply chain.
Further, the Prime Minister highlighted India’s progress in renewable energy, ethanol blending and clean fuel expansion. Stressing the need for responsible energy consumption amid global uncertainties, he urged citizens to use imported energy resources judiciously to save foreign exchange and reduce the impact of global conflicts.
Calling Telangana’s growth integral to India’s development, PM Modi said the Centre would continue working towards fulfilling the aspirations of the state’s people. “If Telangana develops, India will develop,” he said.
