The nation is celebrating the 80th Independence Day today. Prime Minister Narendra Modi led the celebrations at the iconic Red Fort in Delhi. The Celebrations commemorated 150 years of the enduring legacy of the National Song ‘Vande Mataram’. For the first time, ‘Vande Mataram’ was rendered during the celebrations at Red Fort.
Addressing the nation from the ramparts of the Red Fort, Prime Minister Modi said, the government is moving forward with the aim of 100 gigawatts of nuclear power capacity by 2047. Mr. Modi said over the past 12 years, the determination and dedication of crores of citizens have helped take the country to new heights. He said 25 crore people have come out of poverty during this period.
Mr Modi said India, once counted among the Fragile Five economies, has now emerged as a major and the fastest-growing economy in the world. He said India has set an ambitious goal of becoming a developed nation by 2047. On the occasion, the Prime Minister announced free online coaching for poor and middle-class families preparing for various public examinations. He also announced that the government will provide AI-skilling training to one crore youth over the next one year.
Highlighting the government’s focus on critical minerals, Mr Modi said modern technology depends entirely on these minerals and India is actively working to secure its position in the sector. The Prime Minister said, energy security is one of the major requirements of the present times and the government has taken several significant steps in this direction. He said nuclear energy is an important means of ensuring a country’s energy security. Mr. Modi said the government is moving forward with the aim of 100 gigawatts of nuclear power capacity by 2047.
In his address, the Prime Minister called upon the nation to harness the seven streams of strength called as Sapt Dhara. He said, in the next five to seven years, the country will achieve all that could not be achieved in the past five to seven decades.
