PCCF Vinay Kumar Appointed with Additional Charge as Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (HoFF)

The state government issued orders on Friday appointing Vinay Kumar, an IFS officer of the 1992 batch, to hold Full Additional Charge (FAC) as the Head of Forest Force (HoFF) for Telangana. He is set to assume these new responsibilities, as the tenure of the incumbent, C. Suvarna, concludes on the 30th of this month.

With over three decades of experience in forest administration, he has previously held key positions in the Forest Department, Rural Development Department, and Irrigation Department. His past roles include serving as the Project Director of the DPAP in Adilabad and as a Conservator of Forests; he also served as the Commissioner of Irrigation and Command Area Development under the Government of Andhra Pradesh.

In Telangana, he served as the Field Director of the Amrabad Tiger Reserve and acted as the State Project Director for projects implemented with the support of the World Bank and JICA. He was honored as the first runner-up for the United Nations’ ‘Water for Life’ award in 2014 in recognition of his efforts toward the sustainable management of water resources.

Speaking on the occasion, Vinay Kumar stated, “I will discharge the responsibilities entrusted by the government with commitment. We will further strengthen forest conservation measures while prioritizing both wildlife protection and public safety.”
