NTA To Conduct Nationwide Mock Drill Today Ahead Of NEET-UG Re-Examination

National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct a nationwide mock drill today ahead of NEET-UG re-examination 2026. It is part of the preparations to ensure the smooth, secure and transparent conduct of the examination.

The National Testing Agency has said that it is fully prepared for the smooth, fair and transparent conduct of the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET) UG 2026 re-examination, which is scheduled for tomorrow. In a statement, NTA said that the exam will be conducted across 551 cities in India and 14 cities abroad for over 22.79 lakh candidates.

The agency noted that more than two lakh personnel, including observers, coordinators, police forces and administrators, have been deployed. The NTA noted that a multi-layered security framework has been put in place to ensure a fair and transparent examination. It includes CCTV surveillance, Aadhaar-based biometric verification and GPS-enabled vehicles with police escort for the movement of examination materials. The re-examination will be conducted from 2 pm to 5:15 pm in pen-and-paper mode.

Separately, the Delhi High Court yesterday upheld the Centre’s decision to temporarily block Telegram ahead of the re-examination, observing that the platform’s architecture enables rapid amplification of unlawful content and that narrower measures had failed to curb misuse linked to examination fraud.
