NALSAR University Students Hold Solidarity Fast, Demand State Accountability on NEET Paper Leak and State of Education in India

On June 20th, about 100 students of NALSAR University of Law, in a show of solidarity with the hunger strike by Neha Bora, Manish Kumar, Ameen Amitoj, and Sonam Wangchuk on the NEET paper leak and issues relating to education in India, observed a solidarity protest in the campus. The students observed a collective solidarity fast of one meal.

The protest expressed disappointment over the continued silence of the State and called for accountability in response to the concerns raised by various students groups and unions. Students reiterated that peaceful dissent is an essential part of a constitutional democracy and that the State cannot remain unresponsive to voices seeking justice and accountability.

The participants urged the authorities to respond with transparency and uphold the constitutional principles of democratic engagement and the protection of civil liberties. They reaffirmed their commitment to standing in solidarity with those raising matters of public concern through peaceful and democratic means.

The students collectively resolved to gather the next day and carry out a postcard campaign to the Union Government demanding accountability on this issue.
