South Central Railway conducted a meeting with Hon’ble Members of Parliament of Telangana, Andhra Pradeshand Karnataka States belonging to SCR jurisdiction today i.e., 20thAugust, 2026 at Rail Nilayam, Secunderabad. Shri G. Kishan Reddy, Hon’ble Union Minister of Coal and Mines and 15 Hon’ble Members of Parliament took part in the meeting held today. Shri Sanjay Kumar Srivastava, General Manager, SCR; Shri Satya Prakash, Additional General Manager, SCR; Principal Heads of the Departments of SCR, Divisional Railway Managers and other senior Railway officials attended the meeting.
Shri Vaddiraju Ravi Chandra, Shri Mandadi Anil Kumar Yadav& Shri Vem Narendar Reddy, Hon’ble Members of Parliament, Rajya Sabha and Shri Eatala Rajender, Shri Raghunandan Rao Madhavaneni, Dr. Kadiyam Kavya, Shri Vamsi Krishna Gaddam, Shri Kunduru Raghuveer, Shri R. Raghuram Reddy, Shri Suresh Kumar Shetkar, Shri Porika Balram Naik, Shri G. Nagesh, Smt. D.K. Aruna, Shri Bastipati Nagaraju, Shri Kesineni Sivanath, Hon’ble Members of Parliament, Lok Sabha participated in the meeting.
Shri Sanjay Kumar Srivastava, General Manager, SCR welcomed the dignitaries and detailed them on the performance of South Central Railway pertaining to Passenger services, freight loading, goods sheds development, passenger amenities at various Railway stations, Infrastructure developments, Station redevelopments, Digital initiatives, Green initiatives, Security measures, efforts for enhancing passenger comfort, cleanliness at stations & trains etc. Shri Sanjay Kumar Srivastava, General Manager stated SCR now comprises of three divisions viz Secunderabad, Hyderabad and Nanded from June, 2026. The General Manager stated that despite the major reorganization, the zone is able to maintain momemutum, achieve set targets and also surpass the performance of previous year.
Shri Sanjay Kumar Srivastava, General Manager stated that 40 Railway stations in Telangana are being redeveloped with a cost of over Rs. 2000 crores. He stated that four Amrit stations have already been inaugurated viz. Hi-Tech City, Begumpet, Karimnagar and Warangal stations, while the works at the remaining stations are progressing swiftly. Shri Sanjay Kumar Srivastava stated that 1,481 km of New Line, Doubling and Tripling projects are currently under progress at a cost of Rs. 24,210.179 crore. The General Manager also informed that 4 pairs of new trains and 5 pairs of Amrit Bharat trains were introduced from April, 2025, 14 trains were extended to various terminals, 56 trains were provided stoppages at various stations and 30 pairs of trains were regularized during 2026.
The Hon’ble Members of Parliament complimented the initiatives of SCR during the meeting and raised several issues related to Railway developmental works/services in their respective constituencies. The demands raised by the Hon’ble Members included construction of Road Under Bridges/Road Over Bridges, construction of new Railway lines, introduction of new trains, provision of additional stoppages to existing trains, extension of trains and provisionof improved passenger amenities etc. The Hon’ble MPs also emphasized to speed up various infrastructure developmental works undertaken by the zone so as to complete the projects by the targted dates.
Shri Sanjay Kumar Srivastava, General Manager, SCR thanked the Hon’ble Members of Parliament for sparing their valuable time and for guidance, advice and suggestions to improve Rail infrastructure in the region. The General Manager assured the Hon’ble MPs that their suggestions will be given the utmost priority and best efforts will be made for implementation of the same. He also stated that, based on the need, the suggestions will be forwarded to appropriate level for further consideration.The suggestions and views expressed by the Hon’ble Members would also be given due considerationwhile formulating the proposals for new works / services, he added.
