Mentor Development Program by TalentMetrix Inaugurated at GITAM

A three-day Mentor Development Program (MDP) for Faculty Mentors was inaugurated at GITAM Deemed to be University, Hyderabad campus, on 4 February 2026.

The Career Counselling & Mentoring division has been consistently organizing this intensive training initiative to strengthen the mentoring ecosystem within the University. This edition marks the sixth batch of faculty members to undergo training and accreditation as certified mentors through the MDP. Previously, five successful batches were conducted in collaboration with TalentMetrix, collectively training and accrediting over 1400 faculty members. Around 210 faculty members are attending the MDP across the three campuses in the current phase.

TalentMetrix, a management consulting and talent transformation firm with over 25 years of experience, brings deep expertise in assessment and development practices. The organization has partnered with leading corporates across India, contributing significantly to leadership development and capability enhancement initiatives.

The current program is facilitated by seasoned experts RavindranathMokshagundam and Srinivas Gottumukkala, who together bring more than three decades of cross-industry experience in mentoring, leadership development, and organizational transformation.

Conducted in a blended learning format, the training combines structured in-person sessions with interactive learning methodologies. Each batch comprises approximately 25 faculty participants, ensuring focused engagement and personalized guidance. The three-day program is designed to equip faculty mentors with advanced mentoring skills, effective communication strategies, and practical tools to support students’ academic, professional, and personal growth.

The program is being conducted by the Career Counselling & Mentoring wing (headed by Prof.Sarita P, Deputy Director, CC&M) of the Directorate of Training, Mentoring, and Career Guidance (TMCG) (headed by Dr.Rojeena Mathew, Director, TMCG) and under the overall supervision of Prof. Uma Devi K. V., Senior Director and Head, GITAM Career Guidance Center (GCGC), across all three campuses of GITAM University.

The Faculty Mentor Coordinators from all schools, Dr. Vishnu N from GSS, Dr.Vinyas M from GSP, Dr.Tushar V B from GSHSS, Dr.Jyothi B from GSCSE, Dr. Praveen Kumar from GSCE, and Dr.Ramya G V from GSA are actively overseeing and coordinating the MDP at the Hyderabad Campus, ensuring its smooth organization and effective implementation.

Through such structured initiatives, GITAM continues to reinforce its commitment to holistic student development by empowering faculty members to serve as impactful mentors and guides.
