LPG Tanker Green Asha Crosses Strait Of Hormuz As Energy Shipments Continue Amid Tensions
The Indian-flagged LPG tanker Green Asha successfully crossed the Strait of Hormuz near Iran. Iran had closed the strait following the outbreak of conflict with the U.S. and Israel. The route handles about 20 percent of global petroleum trade, making it vital for energy supplies.
Despite risks, Indian vessels have maintained strong activity. Earlier shipments include LPG carriers BW TYR, BW ELM, Pine Gas, and Jag Vasant, delivering over 92,000 tonnes of LPG collectively, while oil tankers Jag Ladki and Jag Prakash transported crude and gasoline from the UAE and Oman. Another tanker, Green Sanvi, recently completed its voyage with around 46,650 metric tonnes of cargo.
