Parliament is set for a crucial legislative day on Tuesday, with both Houses taking up key bills. In the Lok Sabha, the government will seek the passage of the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Amendment Bill, 2026. In the Rajya Sabha, the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development (Amendment) Bill, 2026, will be introduced, while the Prevention of Insults to National Honour (Amendment) Bill, 2026, will be taken up for discussion and passage.
According to the revised List of Business, Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions Dr. Jitendra Singh will move the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Amendment Bill, 2026 for consideration and passage in the Lok Sabha. The Bill, introduced by the Union Minister in the Lower House on Monday, seeks to amend the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024, with the aim of strengthening the legal framework to prevent paper leaks and examination malpractices.
The Lower House will begin proceedings at 11 a.m. with Question Hour, followed by the laying of papers by Union Ministers Jitin Prasada, Ram Nath Thakur, Nityanand Rai, S.P. Singh Baghel, B.L. Verma, Bandi Sanjay Kumar and Pabitra Margherita.
Members Kanimozhi Karunanidhi and Rao Rajendra Singh will present two reports of the Standing Committee on Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution on action taken by the government on its recommendations relating to the Demands for Grants (2026-27) of the Departments of Consumer Affairs and Food and Public Distribution.
Jitin Prasada and Ram Nath Thakur are also scheduled to make statements on the implementation of recommendations made by Parliamentary Standing Committees.
The House will further take up a motion moved by Union Health Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda for the election of one Lok Sabha member to the Institute Body of AIIMS, Guwahati, following the resignation of former MP Pradyut Bordoloi. Matters under Rule 377 will follow.
In the Rajya Sabha, Union Minister Jitan Ram Majhi will introduce the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development (Amendment) Bill, 2026, which seeks to amend the MSME Development Act, 2006.
The Upper House will also continue consideration of the Prevention of Insults to National Honour (Amendment) Bill, 2026, with Union Home Minister Amit Shah scheduled to move the legislation for passage.
The Rajya Sabha agenda also includes the laying of papers by Ministers Pankaj Chaudhary, Anupriya Patel, B.L. Verma, Shantanu Thakur and Harsh Malhotra, presentation of reports of the Department-related Parliamentary Standing Committee on Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, and ministerial statements on the implementation of committee recommendations.
