IPE Hosts 2nd Five-Day Capacity Building Programme on Start-up’s and Hortipreneurship

The Institute of Public Enterprise (IPE) has launched its 2nd Five-Day Capacity Building Programme on Startups and Hortipreneurship, scheduled during February 9th to 13th, 2026. The programme, held in collaboration with Sri Konda Laxman Telangana State Horticultural University, aims to equip students with the skills needed to seize emerging economic opportunities in the horticulture sector.

During the inaugural session, Prof. S Sreenivasa Murthy, Director of IPE, emphasized that horticulture has become a vital economic activity contributing significantly to the national economy. He highlighted government initiatives such as increased funding, improved storage facilities, and expanded export markets as key drivers for growth. Prof. Murthy encouraged participants to embark on entrepreneurial journeys to create jobs within the field.

Prof. T Suresh Reddy, Dean of PG Studies at the Horticultural University, provided further insights into the state’s success, noting that Telangana’s mangoes, sweet oranges, and grapes are already being exported worldwide. He also identified landscaping as a burgeoning business opportunity due to shifting environmental preferences.

The event was attended by training coordinators including Prof. A Sridhar Raj and Dr. Swati Mathur.
