IMD Issues Red Alert For Heat Wave In Maharashtra’s Amravati, Wardha And Chandrapur Districts

In Maharashtra red alert of heatwave is sounded in Amravati, Wardha and Chandrapur districts of Vidarbha today. The districts in east Vidarbha Region Brahmpuri, Gadchiroli, Chandrapur & Wardha recorded temperature upto 46 degrees Celsius,

while Nagpur saw temperature upto 45 degrees celcius with heat wave grappling these districts yesterday. The Regional Meteorological Department has also issued an orange alert for Nagpur, Gadchiroli and Akola districts today.

IMD Issues Yellow Alert For Heat Wave Conditions In Parts Of Delhi Today

India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for heatwave conditions today over parts of Delhi, with maximum temperature hovering between 43 and 45 degrees Celsius. Severe heatwave conditions are also expected to persist during the day in places over Haryana, Chandigarh, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Vidarbha.

In Chhattisgarh, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Jharkhand, Odisha, Telangana and Uttarakhand also similar conditions are expected. Gangetic West Bengal, Konkan and Goa, Odisha, Saurashtra, Kutch, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal are expected to experience hot and humid weather conditions. Warm night conditions are likely to prevail tonight in Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh and Vidarbha.

The Weather Agency also predicted heavy rainfall in parts of north-east India, Bihar, Interior Karnataka, Tripura, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim today.
