IMD Forecasts Hot And Humid Weather Conditions Over Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Gujarat, Kerala

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast hot and humid weather conditions over Andhra Pradesh, Coastal Karnataka, Gujarat, Kerala, Mahe, Madhya Maharashtra, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal for the next two days.

The weather agency predicted a gradual rise in maximum temperatures over Northwest India by 4 to 6 degrees Celsius from today till 18th of this month. According to IMD, thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds are expected over Northeast India during the next two days.

Similar conditions are also likely to prevail over Arunachal Pradesh, South Interior Karnataka, Ladakh, Jammu and Kashmir for the next four days.

Andhra Pradesh State Disaster Management Authority Issues Heatwave Alert For Next 2 Days

The Andhra Pradesh State Disaster Management Authority has issued a heatwave alert for the next two days.

APSDMA Managing Director Prakhar Jain said severe heatwave conditions are likely in 51 mandals and heatwave conditions in 49 mandals tomorrow. On Tuesday, 53 mandals may experience severe heatwaves, while 57 mandals are expected to record heatwave conditions.

North Coastal districts are likely to be affected, while Coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema regions may see high temperatures. In some areas, temperatures have already crossed 43 degrees Celsius, with Pottipadu in Kadapa district recording 43.8 degrees today.

Officials have advised people to avoid exposure to the sun during peak hours, wear light cotton clothing, use protective gear, and stay well hydrated. Special caution has been urged for the elderly and those with pre-existing health conditions.
