GITAM Student Wins Two Bronze Medals at International Kickboxing Cup
S. Veerandra, a final-year B.Tech. (CSE) student of GITAM Deemed to be University, Hyderabad Campus, secured two bronze medals at the 5thIndia Open International Kickboxing Cup–2026, held from February 4–8 at Indira Gandhi Arena, New Delhi.
The prestigious event witnessed participation from athletes representing nearly ten countries. Competing in the Senior Category, Veerandra delivered an impressive performance, contributing to the strong showing of the Telangana contingent. Other team members also won gold and silver medals in categories such as Kick Light, Light Contact, and Junior divisions.
Congratulating Veerandra on his achievement, GITAM Hyderabad Pro Vice-Chancellor Prof. D. S. Rao, Director – Hospitality & Campus Life Ambika Philip, and Deputy Director – Sports Dr. M. Narayana Rao Chowdary praised his dedication and encouraged him to continue striving for excellence in future national and international competitions.
