In an innovative initiative aimed at empowering students with clarity and direction in the rapidly evolving technology landscape, Dr.Rojeena Mathew, Director – Training, Mentoring & Career Guidance (TMCG), GITAM Career Guidance Centre, has introduced a comprehensive series of Career Roadmaps designed to help students build industry-relevant skills and career pathways.
Recognizing that today’s students possess immense ambition but often struggle with choosing the right career direction among countless emerging domains, the Directorate of Training, Mentoring & Career Guidance (TMCG) – Training & Competency Development (TCD) Wing has developed structured learning roadmaps that simplify the journey from foundational learning to industry readiness.
With the rise of technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Cybersecurity, Software Engineering, Internet of Things (IoT), Embedded Systems, Blockchain, VLSI, and many more, students frequently face the challenge of identifying where and how to begin their professional journey. Addressing this need, the newly launched roadmaps provide a clear and practical learning pathway for aspiring professionals.
The currently available roadmaps include, AI & Machine Learning Engineering, Data Science, Cybersecurity, Software Engineering, Blockchain, IoT, Embedded Systems, VLSI, and DSA in Java.Several additional roadmaps, including non-technical career domains, are also under development.
Speaking about the initiative, Dr.Rojeena Mathew stated that the technology landscape is evolving rapidly, and continuous learning has become essential for career success. These roadmaps are intended to help students explore emerging domains with confidence, purpose, and structured guidance.
“These roadmaps are designed to help students understand what to learn, when to learn it, and how to progress from beginner-level concepts to becoming industry-ready professionals. Whether a student is exploring a field for the first time or planning the next phase of upskilling, these resources will serve as a valuable starting point,” she said.
The roadmaps are designed as living documents that will be continuously updated to align with industry trends and technological advancements. Students and faculty members are encouraged to provide feedback regarding outdated information, broken links, or suggestions for improvement to ensure the resources remain relevant and beneficial for future learners.
Encouraging students to take proactive steps toward skill development, Dr.Rojeena Mathew emphasized, “The best time to start was yesterday. The second-best time is right now.”
The initiative reflects GITAM’s continued commitment to nurturing future-ready professionals by providing students with practical guidance, mentorship, and access to structured career development resources.
